Family Photography at Sinissippi Gardens, Rockford Illinois
As a photographer in Rockford, Illinois, you have to take advantage of the Beautiful Sinissippi Gardens for your photoshoot backdrop. There are many possibilities to turn a portrait session into a stunning image. Aurora got ahold of me for a group portrait of her whole family. I love extended family sessions and seeing different family dynamics. This was also a step out of my comfort zone, starting with a pretty well daylight session into golden hour. It was fun seeing the different ways the light changed our images.
I never realized how beautiful of a backdrop Nicholas Conservatory’s Greenhouse was until I worked with the family and got everyone’s photo before the stunning setting.
Also, a tip to extended families: always get a photo of your parents. I am a big advocate for all couples to get a picture alone without the kids. I know this photo will bring joy to their family.
Oh, the way the sun slowly went down and reached that beautiful orange and red glow. I was a bit afraid we would lose it fast, so we started to make our way back after walking a lot in the park. Part of me enjoys every moment because of the garden itself. Still, the other photographer’s mind loves seeing all the image opportunities like siblings that may not always get along walking together with that perfect peak of sun wrapping golden light around them.
As we were leaving and making our way out, I saw it. The sunset. It was cold and getting dark, but I took my chance to get one more photo before saying goodbye. I must say, it turned out pretty incredible. I can wait to get more families to the gardens this year and next. Keep a look out on my website for more images.
